Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Trent Masters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and KJ Dempsey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, KJ Dempsey!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Jorge Garcia and Alyssa Summers.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dempsey swinging wilding here.
Masters ducks under a wild hook from Dempsey.
Masters with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Dempsey to score with a decent uppercut.
Dempsey throws a series of punches but Masters moves out of range.
Dempsey walks into a straight right hand from Masters.

It looks like KJ Dempsey has been cut.
Dempsey takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Masters bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Dempsey's head backwards.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Nice body punch from Masters.
Masters takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Dempsey scores with a sloppy right hand. Masters should have avoided that one.
Dempsey misses with a hook. Masters ducked under it nicely.
Dempsey misses with a straight left.
Masters scores with a jab to the jaw.

Masters lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Dempsey at a distance.

Dempsey throws a jab but it's blocked by Masters.
Dempsey takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Dempsey shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Masters as he avoids it easily.
KJ Dempsey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Masters connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Dempsey's hands.
Dempsey uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Masters has time to react.

and Masters counters with a shoot takedown. Dempsey fights it but they end up in guard.

Masters lands a couple of decent looking shots.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dempsey wants to hit a switch here but Masters passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Dempsey there!

Dempsey keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Dempsey takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dempsey sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Masters fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Dempsey is in all sorts of trouble here.

Masters cracks Dempsey with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
