The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Thiele drives through with a takedown into guard.
Thiele wants to control from the top but Hase keeps moving.

Thiele is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hase sees it coming and defends easily.
Hase is trying to stand up here but Thiele is controlling him well.

Hase pushes Thiele off looking to stand but Thiele dives back in and keeps control.
Thiele is looking to advance position but Hase won't allow it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Thiele wants to work for an arm triangle but Hase is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Thiele content to control rather than advance.
Hase is looking to get back to is feet but Thiele passes into side control.

Thiele has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Hase is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Thiele yanks on the arm and Hase is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Thiele.
