Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, James Power!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kin Ring Sackett!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sackett stuffs the takedown attempt from Power. Power gets slowly back to his feet.
No joy there for Power, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Sackett falls off balance throwing a combination

and Power decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Sackett's guard.
Power pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Sackett is keeping the position for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sackett tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Power thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Sackett controls Power momentarily but Power frees himself.
Sackett looking to hit a scissor sweep but Power is one step ahead there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sackett wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

That's one minute gone in the round.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Sackett drives through with a takedown into guard.
Sackett trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Power looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Sackett is looking to work some ground and pound but Power has wrist control.
Sackett postures up and lands a big shot to Power's brow.
Sackett lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Sackett connects with a couple of short punches.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sackett accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Sackett forces his way into half guard.
Sackett is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Power keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Power is looking to escape.
Sackett missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Power is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Sackett's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Sackett's back!
Power has the hooks in. Sackett is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Sackett turns into Power and is now in his guard.
Power avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Sackett keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Power's head.
Power wants to get back to his feet but Sackett is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Power is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Sackett is aware though and is defending well.
Power is breathing heavily.

Power is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Sackett passes into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Sackett connects with a nice short shot to Power's temple.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Power taking some punishment here, with Sackett in his half guard.
Sackett trying to control from half guard but Power is working away.
Sackett winds up and cracks Power with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Sackett works his foot free and advances to mount.
A nice elbow there by Sackett.


It looks like James Power has been cut.
Power takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.


James Power's cut is getting worse.
Sackett softens up his opponent with a couple of shots there and then CRACK! One massive shot lands there and Power is out cold! Sackett jumps to his feet and celebrates on the cage with the fans, who are, quite frankly, going absolutely mental!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kin Ring Sackett!
