The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wilhelm lands a two punch combo.

It looks like Joe Thorton has been cut.
Wilhelm uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Thorton.
Thorton swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Wilhelm counters with a nice body shot.
Wilhelm throws a series of punches but Thorton moves out of range.
Thorton misses with a looping left.
Wilhelm slips under a jab.
Thorton throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Thorton tries to keep at a distance but Wilhelm has taken the fight into the clinch.
Thorton misses with a hook to the ribs.
Wilhelm is leaning against Thorton and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Wilhelm digs a right hand into Thorton's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Thorton's gas tank.
Thorton stalling in the clinch but Wilhelm improves position.
Wilhelm pushes Thorton back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Thorton misses with a knee to the head.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Thorton misses with some punches.
Wilhelm dodges an elbow strike from Thorton.
A nice right hand lands inside from Thorton.
Thorton wants to break free but Wilhelm has control.

Thorton throws a punch but it's blocked by Wilhelm.
Thorton misses with the head strike.

Wilhelm scores with a shoulder strike.
Wilhelm blocking some punches.
Wilhelm lands an uppercut.
Thorton lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Wilhelm backwards.
Wilhelm pushes Thorton back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Thorton misses with a knee strike.
Wilhelm throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Thortons head.

Wilhelm drops Thorton onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Thorton is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!

Thorton is still on wobbly legs! Can Wilhelm finish him?
Wilhelm creates some distance for himselfand unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Thorton's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Thorton drops to his knees and Wilhelm pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
