The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mallon misses with a body shot.
Knox throws a head kick but Mallon moves out of range.
Mallon will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Knox throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Mallon.

It looks like John Mallon has been cut.
Knox throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Mallon throws a big shot that misses.
Knox misses with a straight right.
Knox uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Mallon.
Mallon loads up on a big right hand but Knox slips the punch.

Mallon swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Knox.

Mallon takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Knox thows a body shot but no joy.
Knox throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mallon.
Mallon throws a looping overhand right but Knox ducks down to avoid it.
Knox ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Knox throws a series of punches but Mallon avoids them all with ease.
Knox tries to bum rush Mallon with a series of wild strikes but Mallon uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Mallon misses the jab.
Knox is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Mallon rather than just go for the knockout.
Knox lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mallon avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Mallon moves away from the strike by Knox.

Mallon throws a lazy right hand but Knox sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Knox lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Mallon bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Knox's head.

Mallon throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Knox sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Mallon is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Mallon looks to land a combination but Knox avoids it well.
Knox lands with a nice body punch.

Knox fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Knox lands the left hand.

John Mallon's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

Knox lands a big head kick that sends Mallon tumbling to the mat! Knox takes a step backwards and waves Mallon back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Mallon is rocked!
Knox lets loose with a powerful body kick. Mallon will feel that in the morning.
Oh Mallon is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Knox tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Knox throws a right and a left that Mallon avoids nicely.
Mallon moves forwards but Knox connects with a nice, crisp jab.

No joy there for Knox, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Jeez, John Mallon's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
