Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hoo Ar Yu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergio Gomez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sergio Gomez has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sergio Gomez!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Edson Gomes and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yu fails with a takedown attempt.
Gomez throws a series of punches but Yu avoids them all with ease.
Yu shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Gomez is trying to defend but Yu finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Yu not doing much here.
Gomez won't allow Yu to pass to mount.
Gomez trying to hold on to Yu's head to control him but Yu postures up.
Gomez looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Gomez has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Yu is working away from the top position though.

Yu stalling.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Gomez shoots and misses
and Yu counters with a takedown into side control.
Gomez is trying to get back to half guard.
Gomez explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Yu tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Gomez drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Yu tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Yu wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Gomez is now in half guard.
Gomez wants to pass to mount but Yu is defending the position.
Gomez trying to control the action but Yu is working from the bottom.
Gomez looks gassed!
Yu wants to control but Gomez is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Yu wants to get back to full guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Gomez with a poor takedown
and Yu counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Yu.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Yu controls from within his opponent's guard.

Gomez looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Yu has picked Gomez up and slammed him! Gomez can't keep hold of the triangle and Yu manages to pass to side control!
Yu scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Gomez to see if he's OK.
Yu wants to stand but Gomez is controlling his arm.
Gomez takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Gomez tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Yu easily slips into full mount!
Gomez tries to hold on but Yu postures up.
Yu is looking to stand but Yu has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Gomez is in all sorts of trouble here.
Yu wants to get back to his feet but Gomez is holding on tight.
Yu takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Gomez is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Yu controlling his opponent.
Gomez can't escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hoo Ar Yu dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

and Gomez counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Yu!

Gomez tries to control but Yu wriggling away.
Hoo Ar Yu overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Gomez avoids the attempt from Yu to control.
Yu is in all sorts of trouble here.

Gomez controlling from the full mount.
Gomez is breathing heavily.
Gomez is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Gomez!
