The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kulani shoots in and bounces Brat off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Kulani is working for a kimura but Brat is defending it quite comfortably.

Benjamin Brat has got the better of the ground game so far.

Brat looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kulani with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Kulani is staying active underneath Brat, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Kulani is looking for a sweep. Brat is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Brat accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Kulani stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Brat swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Kulani has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Brat manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Kulani avoids a strike by Brat and manages to complete a very nice reversal in the process, to end up in Brat's guard! Fantastic escape!

Kulani drops back, looking for a kneebar! Brat looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Brat looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Brat!
Kikeona Kulani has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Benjamin Brat is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kulani is trying to escape the position but Brat is controlling the position.
Brat is looking to take a break and control but Kulani is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kikeona Kulani.
I think Brat has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
