PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Willie Wynn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Herbie Hawkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hawkins comes into a darkened arena with his song building. My Sacrifice kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, William Gold and Colin Fotheringham.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hawkins throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Wynn's waist but Wynn gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hawkins off to one side.
Wynn moves in looking to clinch but Hawkins pushes him off.

Hawkins shoots in and bounces Wynn off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Hawkins gets to his feet - Wynn follows without any prompting.

Wynn tries to clinch but Hawkins moves out of range.
Hawkins shoots in looking for a takedown. Wynn tries to sprawl out of it but Hawkins keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Wynn manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Hawkins avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

and Hawkins counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Hawkins will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Hawkins moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Wynn unloads a knee to the mid-section. Hawkins lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Hawkins fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Wynn sprawls well initially but Hawkins persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hawkins decides to return to a standing position.
Hawkins throws a right and a left that Wynn avoids nicely.
Hawkins has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
