Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Georges St Clair!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Robert Douchet and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Um scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
St Clair shoots in for a takedown but Um shows good takedown defense.
Um throws a hook to the side of St Clair's head but St Clair sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

St Clair gets caught flat footed, as Um shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Um knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for St Clair on the ground.

St Clair looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
St Clair throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

St Clair is looking for a triangle but Um pushes his legs off easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Um tries to lock up and control but St Clair gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

St Clair moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Um has worked his arm free - good work by Um!

St Clair tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no St Clair has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Um wants to control but St Clair postures up.
Um isn't going anywhere.

St Clair tries for a kimura but Um is defending well.

St Clair wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Um, who protects the arm well.
You can see the frustration on Um's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
St Clair advances to mount.

St Clair looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Um really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

St Clair is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Um is surviving well by controlling St Clair's body position as best he can.

St Clair jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Um is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Um and St Clair has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Um prevents St Clair from moving into mount.
Um is looking to reverse the position.
Phal Um overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

St Clair is working to tighten is grip on Um's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Um has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but St Clair is really squeezing tight and eventually Um passes out! St Clair breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
