PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chubbs Peterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Guy LeDouche (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). LeDouche has chosen 30 Century Man as his entrance music. Guy LeDouche told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Chubbs Peterson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Guy LeDouche!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Thiago Cunha and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
LeDouche closes this distance looking for a takedown but Peterson circles away.
LeDouche avoids a punch combination nicely.

Guy LeDouche seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Peterson fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

LeDouche throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Peterson was covering up waiting for the punch and LeDouche finishes the takedown easily into guard.
LeDouche trying to control the position from guard on top but Peterson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Peterson avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Peterson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Peterson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as LeDouche controls the pace.

That's one minute gone in the round.
LeDouche stands and throws Peterson's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Peterson dodges the ground and pound from LeDouche.
Peterson tries to bench press LeDouche off him but LeDouche keeps the position.
LeDouche has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
LeDouche throws an elbow but Peterson slips to the side and avoids it well.
Peterson wants to control but LeDouche postures up.

LeDouche is trying to get an arm triangle but Peterson is defending well.
The strikes coming from LeDouche are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
LeDouche sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Peterson is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Peterson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
LeDouche tries to close the distance and clinch but Peterson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
LeDouche takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
LeDouche looks gassed!
LeDouche looks for a takedown but Peterson sprawls well.
LeDouche avoids a punch combination nicely.
LeDouche throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
LeDouche tries to score a power double leg takedown but Peterson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten LeDouche somewhat.
Chubbs Peterson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Guy LeDouche.
LeDouche slips under a jab from Peterson.
LeDouche misses the shot to the body.
Peterson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but LeDouche circles away quickly and effectively.

Peterson drops LeDouche with a beautiful combination! LeDouche stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Peterson is looking for the KO!


LeDouche is rocked!


It looks like Guy LeDouche has been cut.
Chubbs Peterson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Peterson lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. LeDouche is looking to close the distance but Peterson sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! LeDouche crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope LeDouche is OK because that was naaaaaasty!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Knee). Chubbs Peterson!
