The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Paiva drives through and clinches with Sokima against the cage.
Sokima crunches a lovely knee into Paiva's ribcage.

Paiva tightens his grip and picks Sokima up, before dumping him to the ground. Sokima manages to land in guard.
Sokima preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Sokima manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Sokima tries to clinch but Paiva is having none of it.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Sokima is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Paiva is defending well for now.

Paiva jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Sokima walks away with a smile on his face. Paiva gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Sokima rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Paiva moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Paiva lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Paiva gets control of Sokima's arms and successfully pulls guard. Paiva will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Sokima tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Paiva paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Paiva has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Sokima clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Paiva lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Sokima hold on?!
Sokima has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Paiva.

Paiva has his opponent's back but Sokima is looking to stand. He manages to get to his feet and shakes off Paiva.

Paiva swings wildly with an uppercut but Sokima uses good head movement to avoid it.

Yohama Sokima has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jon Paiva.

Paiva changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sokima looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Sokima pushes Paiva away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Paiva gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Sokima avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Yohama Sokima is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Sokima clinches.
Paiva swings wildly with an uppercut but Sokima uses good head movement to avoid it.
Sokima tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Paiva fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Paiva throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Sokimas head.
Sokima swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Paiva has Sokima pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Paiva pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Sokima tumbling to the mat - Paiva dives into Sokima's guard.

Sokima scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Sokima leaves Paiva with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
The fight stays on the outside here - Sokima looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and Sokima counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Paiva is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Sokima rolls with it to try and escape but Paiva cranks on the arm and Sokima is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
