PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Garvan Grocz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dwight Schrute (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Grocz comes into the arena with Shoot to Thrill blaring out of the sound system. Schrute has chosen Thunderstruck by AC DC as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grocz misses the shot to the body.
Grocz doesn't manage to clinch there - Schrute circles away.
Grocz fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Schrute manages to avoid it.
Grocz takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Grocz staying out of range there.
Grocz throws a hook but Schrute blocks it.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Grocz.

Grocz clinches.
Grocz tries for a takedown but Schrute manages to get underhooks.
Schrute blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Grocz pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Schrute blocks an elbow strike from Grocz.

Grocz fails to pull guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Garvan Grocz. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Schrute tries to break the clinch but Grocz is controlling the position.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Grocz.
Grocz tries to pull guard but Schrute holds him up against the cage and eventually Grocz drops back down to his feet.

Grocz goes for a takedown in the clinch but Schrute prevents it.

Grocz gets control of Schrute's arms and successfully pulls guard. Grocz will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Grocz working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Schrute doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Schrute manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Grocz is looking for a triangle but Schrute pushes his legs off easily.

Grocz looking to hit a scissor sweep but Schrute is one step ahead there.

Schrute would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Grocz pulls Schrute in close to prevent any damage.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Grocz fails with the takedown.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Grocz drops his hands momentarily and Schrute takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Schrute punishes Grocz's body with a nice straight punch.

Grocz loads up on a big right hand but Schrute slips the punch.
Schrute throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Schrute looks to land a left hand but Grocz moved out of range nicely.
Schrute lands an uppercut, right on the button! Grocz tumbles backwards into the cage, staring vacantly into space! He's got no idea where he is, who he is or what day it is... Poor guy.
