PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Travis Pinder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Obrien (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pinder's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Drowning Pool's Let The Bodies Hit The Floor. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Eddie Farnsworth and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pinder looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Obrien closes the distance and pushes Pinder back into the cage.

Pinder has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Obrien uses from the top position.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Pinder cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Obrien wants to hold on but Pinder pushes him away.

Obrien sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Obrien really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pinder. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Pinder connects with a nice short shot to Obrien's temple.

Pinder won't allow Obrien to get back to his feet.
Pinder sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Obrien's guard.
Pinder wants to free his trapped foot but Obrien is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Obrien has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Pinder is proving hard to escape from.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Pinder, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
