The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonzaga scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Gonzaga is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but boy is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Gonzaga looking to punish the body of his opponent here but boy is avoiding damage well.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Gonzaga changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. boy tries to avoid it but Gonzaga manages to keep hold of a leg and drag boy to the ground. boy escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
boy is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Gonzaga's half guard.
Gonzaga has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. boy is working away from the top position though.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. boy lands a nice short elbow.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. boy connects with a nice short shot to Gonzaga's temple.
Gonzaga is refusing to be controlled, as boy sits in half guard.
Gonzaga is trying to get back to full guard.
Gonzaga is breathing heavily.
boy looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Gonzaga with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
boy stands up from half guard.
boy gets a takedown into half guard.
boy is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Gonzaga is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
