Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between tyson griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and jerry cornelius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). cornelius has chosen wheres me jumper as his entrance music. jerry cornelius will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

griffin throws a nice looking combination but cornelius bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

griffin is sneakily working for an arm triangle but cornelius sees it coming and defends easily.
cornelius is looking to escape.
griffin is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and cornelius reverses the position - he's now on top in griffin's guard.

griffin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

griffin tries to stall but cornelius uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
griffin prevents cornelius from breaking the clinch.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
An inside leg kick lands from griffin.
Nice sprawl there from cornelius as griffin shoots in.
cornelius throws a left and a right that both miss
and griffin counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
A telegraphed right hand from cornelius misses the target.
griffin ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
griffin bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
griffin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. cornelius tries to avoid it but griffin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag cornelius to the ground. cornelius escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for tyson griffin. That's going to take a lot out of him.

cornelius loads up on a big right hand but griffin slips the punch.

griffin changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. cornelius looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
cornelius tries to bench press griffin off him but griffin keeps the position.

The fighters circling - cornelius throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

griffin closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - griffin lands in his opponent's guard.
griffin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. cornelius swivels though and keeps the full guard.

griffin passes to full mount! That's big trouble for cornelius!
cornelius really doesn't want to stay on the ground with griffin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
griffin throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
griffin wants to control the pace but cornelius is squirming around nicely.
cornelius tries to reverse the position but griffin maintains control.
cornelius is bucking up trying to escape but griffin cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
