Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Peter Files (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Junzy Moneyman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Junzy Moneyman!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, James Glass and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moneyman fails with the takedown.
Moneyman tries to clinch up but Files circles away and keeps his distance.
Files scores with a nice right hand.
Moneyman doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Moneyman lands a head kick!


It looks like Peter Files has been cut.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Moneyman is defended easily by Files.
Moneyman closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Files keeps the fight on the outside.
Files misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Files fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Moneyman manages to avoid it.
Files swinging wilding here.
Files will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Moneyman shoots in for a takedown but Files shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Peter Files has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Junzy Moneyman.

Files fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Moneyman looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Files throws a nice looking combination but Moneyman bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Files is trying to reverse the position but instead Moneyman has taken his back - oops!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Moneyman is working the ground and pound. Can Files escape?
Moneyman is trying to stick to Files's back but Files is turning into Moneyman. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Moneyman's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Files.

Files has gone for a leg lock! Moneyman slips out almost immediately though and dives into Files's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Files working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Moneyman doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Moneyman manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Moneyman stands up from Files's guard - Moneyman perhaps looking for a knockout.
Files stuffs the takedown.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Junzy Moneyman dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Peter Files's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


No joy there for Files, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Files misses with a series of wild punches.
Files misses with a wild combination.
Moneyman shoots for a double leg takedown but Files sprawls well. He's pushed Moneyman's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Peter Files is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Moneyman takes one to the side of the head.
Moneyman avoids the body shot from Files.
Files misses with a double jab

and Moneyman counters with a single leg into guard. Files didn't expect that.

Files escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Moneyman gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Moneyman stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Files is looking to wear down Moneyman with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Moneyman drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Moneyman is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Moneyman wants to stand but Files is controlling his posture from full guard.

Files looking for a guillotine here but Moneyman defends easily.

Files is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Moneyman is aware though and is defending well.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Files misses with a few strikes there.
Files leaves Moneyman with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Files looks to land a combination. Moneyman sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Files fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Files looks to land a left hand but Moneyman moved out of range nicely.

Moneyman closes the distance and clinches.
Files fails to pull guard.

Moneyman wants the takedown. Files is fighting it off but Moneyman persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Files's guard against the cage.
Moneyman wants to control from the top but Files keeps moving.

Junzy Moneyman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Files's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Moneyman misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

and Moneyman counters by moving into the clinch.
Moneyman will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Files up against the cage.
Files tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Moneyman just stands there and leans against the cage.

Moneyman jumps guard and drags Files to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Files drops back looking for a leg! Moneyman is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Moneyman manages to kick Files off! Files jumps back into Moneyman's guard.

Files throws a strike but Moneyman avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Files drops back, looking for a kneebar! Moneyman looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Moneyman looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Moneyman!
Moneyman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Files keeps working.
Moneyman is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Moneyman wants to stand but Files is controlling his arm.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Moneyman is looking to take a break and control but Files is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Files manages to work his way to half guard, despite Moneyman's best efforts.

And that's the end of the fight!
Junzy Moneyman comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Moneyman winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
