The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Swift drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Machado keeping moving, preventing Swift from controlling successfully.
Swift tries to free his leg and advance position but Machado is retaining full guard.

Machado scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Swift shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Swift was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Machado sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Machado manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Swift tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Swift is breathing heavily.

Swift wants to pass the guard but Machado is defending well.
The fighters are battling for position here. Machado manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Swift postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Machado wants to stand and escape but Swift is having none of it.

Machado looking for a guillotine here but Swift defends easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Swift scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Swift stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Machado swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Machado has his feet on Swift's thighs here. He's pushed Swift off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Swift screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
