Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jim Lacey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sean Sherk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sherk has chosen Fill the Bite as his entrance music. Sean Sherk has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim Lacey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sean Sherk!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Daniel Franklin and Tiny Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sherk darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Sherk shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Sherk was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Lacey is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Sherk landing punches.
Lacey bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Lacey drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lacey jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Sherk really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lacey. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lacey postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Sherk is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Lacey, into his guard.
Sherk lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Lacey working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sherk doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sherk manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Sherk chips away with some ground and pound.
Lacey is breathing heavily.
Lacey utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Sherk connects with a couple of short punches.
Sherk throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Sherk tries to free his leg and advance position but Lacey is retaining full guard.

Lacey is looking to sinch up a triangle. Sherk throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Lacey's body to avoid the submission. Lacey has instead reached around Sherk's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Lacey arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
