Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Albert Fish (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kent Powell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kent Powell will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Albert Fish!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kent Powell!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Edson Gomes and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Powell shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Fish defends it nicely.
Powell takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Powell shoots in and bounces Fish off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Powell working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Fish's head.
Powell is pushing down on Fish's leg trying to pass to half guard. Fish is fighting to maintain full guard but Powell has managed to sneak the leg through.
Powell working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Fish tries to get to full guard but Powell has control of the leg.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Powell is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Fish has hold of Powell's hands but Powell slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Powell not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Powell throwing shots but Fish is blocking nicely.
Fish is trying to stand up here but Powell is controlling him well.
Fish tries to roll over but Powell keeps him under control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Powell tries to move into range but Fish moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Powell shoots in and drives through. Fish sprawls well.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Powell wants to clinch up but Fish keeps it at a distance.
Fish throws a push kick but Powell slaps the foot to one side.
Fish stuffs the takedown attempt from Powell. Powell gets slowly back to his feet.
Albert Fish has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kent Powell.
Powell tries to clinch up.
Powell looks for a takedown but Fish sprawls well.

and Fish counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Fish is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Powell.
Powell looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Kent Powell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fish is looking to slow Powell down with leg kicks.

Fish breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Fish wants to clinch.
Fish lands with an uppercut that bounces Powell off the cage and back into rage.
Fish throws a lazy right hand but Powell sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Albert Fish is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Fish misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Powell closes this distance looking for a takedown but Fish circles away.

Powell tries for a takedown but Fish sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

and Fish holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Powell looks gassed!
Fish lands a left hand that snaps the head of Powell backwards.
A frustrated look appears on Fish's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Fish swings wildly with an uppercut but Powell uses good head movement to avoid it.
Nice body punch from Fish.
Powell goes for a takedown in the clinch but Fish prevents it.
Fish is leaning against Powell and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Fish manages to break the clinch.

Powell throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Fish was covering up waiting for the punch and Powell finishes the takedown easily into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Powell shoots and misses
and Fish counters with a nice low kick that buckles Powell's knee momentarily.
Powell swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Powell feints and as Fish raises his hands in defense, Powell changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Powell accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Fish is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Powell breaks from the clinch.
Fish is looking to clinch but Powell is avoiding it.
Fish lands with a right hand.
Powell is breathing heavily.
Powell shoots in for a takedown but Fish shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Powell avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Powell walks into a straight right hand from Fish.
Nice straight punches there by Fish. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Fish.

and Fish counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Fish creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Powell takes an elbow to the forehead.
Fish throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Fish wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Powell looking to sit in guard and control but Fish gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Powell is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Fish is controlling him.
