Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Deep (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eli Samuel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Samuel has chosen Bring The Goons Out as his entrance music. Johnny Deep had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Samuel shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Deep manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Deep looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Samuel passes into half guard.
Deep wants to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Deep pushes Samuel off looking to stand but Samuel dives back in and keeps control.
Samuel content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Samuel's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Deep tries to get to full guard but Samuel has control of the leg.

Deep is trying to control but can't.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Samuel is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Samuel perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Samuel thows a huge punch but Deep dodges it nicely.
Deep moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Samuel in particular looking to stall.

Despite being in the dominant position, Eli Samuel just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

That's time! Deep's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Samuel shoots in and drives through. Deep sprawls well.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Samuel.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Samuel dives in and grabs Deep's left leg, looking for a takedown. Deep pushes down on Samuel's head and hops out.

Deep fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Samuel tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Deep swivels and escapes.
Samuel tries to score a power double leg takedown but Deep sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Samuel somewhat.
Samuel changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Deep tries to avoid it but Samuel manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Deep to the ground. Deep escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Samuel looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Samuel fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Samuel shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Deep but Deep pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Deep tries a head kick but it misses.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
A jab from Deep does it's job there.
Nice sprawl there from Deep as Samuel shoots in.

Samuel looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Samuel wants to pass to mount but Deep is defending the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Deep is looking to get back to full guard here but Samuel has managed to pass to side control instead.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Johnny Deep will probably get the nod.

Samuel is staying tight to Deep's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Deep tries to bum rush Samuel with a series of wild strikes but Samuel uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Deep swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Samuel shoots in and drives through. Deep sprawls well.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Samuel is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Deep's half guard.
