Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Christopher Archangel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frankie Murdock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Steve Montenegro and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murdock tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Murdock tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Archangel paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Murdock misses with a jab, cross combination.
Archangel shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Murdock manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Murdock is striking from the bottom but Archangel uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.
Archangel is looking to advance position but Murdock won't allow it.
Murdock is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Archangel's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Archangel's back!
I really don't envy Archangel right now.
Murdock misses with a punch to the head.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Murdock is looking to control Archangel's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Murdock avoid being mounted?
Archangel drops an elbow to the side of Murdock's head.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Archangel connects with a nice short shot to Murdock's temple.
Murdock really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Archangel. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Archangel working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Archangel is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Murdock wants to get back to full guard.
Archangel seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Murdock does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Archangel is looking for a kimura but Murdock is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Archangel to get the leverage.
Archangel uses his free foot to push down on Murdock's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Murdock.
Archangel avoids the attempt from Murdock to control.

BOOM! Archangel connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Murdock is in a horrible position here. Archangel smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Archangel is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Murdock is forced to tap! Great finish!
