Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Vincent Koivu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil MyCock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Koivu's entrance music is Coheed and Cambria - Welcome Home. A fine choice. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
MyCock tries a head kick but it misses.
Koivu takes a kick to the side of the head.
MyCock misses with a takedown attempt - Koivu sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
MyCock tries to clinch but Koivu is having none of it.

and MyCock counters with a nice uppercut.
Horrible takedown by MyCock or perhaps it was just good defense by Koivu which made him look bad.
MyCock pushes Koivu away with a front kick.

Koivu forces MyCock back against the cage and clinches.

Koivu turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Koivu manages to end up in side control.
Koivu takes a little break here. MyCock wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
MyCock is trying to control Koivu's posture but Koivu avoids it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Koivu looks up at the clock and then as MyCock takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Koivu smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Koivu tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Koivu staying calm.
Koivu tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Koivu moves into the clinch.
MyCock goes for a takedown attempt but Koivu pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

MyCock wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

Koivu's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Koivu controlling from mount.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Vincent Koivu just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Koivu connects with a jab.
MyCock connects with a solid leg kick.
Koivu throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

MyCock slips a jab and a cross from Koivu.
MyCock throws a series of punches but Koivu moves out of range.

Koivu is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. MyCock knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
