Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between hakazi yakamoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zachary Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). yakamoto comes to the cage accompanied by peace of mind. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
yakamoto misses the jab.
Smith shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
yakamoto lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Smith backs up against the cage.
yakamoto tries to clinch up but Smith circles away and keeps his distance.

Smith's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Smith ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
yakamoto connects with a nice looking jab.
yakamoto throws a right hand that Smith ducks under and follows up with a left that Smith also avoids with ease.
Smith takes a shot right to the bread basket.
yakamoto really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Smith ducks down and throws a hook to the body but yakamoto moves away.

Smith walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Smith drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Smith drops his hands momentarily and yakamoto takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

yakamoto does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

yakamoto moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Smith throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Smith clinches.
yakamoto is trying to break free.

Smith has picked yakamoto up - he's going for a ride! Smith dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Smith takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
yakamoto tries to kick Smith off but Smith keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Smith stalling.
yakamoto is in trouble now - Smith has advanced to mount!

yakamoto is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smith controlling his opponent.
Smith's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
yakamoto keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Smith shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as yakamoto sprawls well. yakamoto wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Smith gets slowly back to his feet.
Nice straight punches there by yakamoto. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of yakamoto.

Smith is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in yakamoto's half guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Smith is taking a breather. yakamoto says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Smith passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for yakamoto!
yakamoto wants to hold on but Smith pushes him away.
yakamoto is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Smith can do to turn this around?
Smith takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
