PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Berg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andy Wuzz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Berg comes to the cage accompanied by Survivor - Eye Of The Tiger. Wuzz has chosen Lützenkirchen - German Kiss as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Alexander Berg!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Andy Wuzz!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, William Gold and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Berg moves into range and connects with a jab.
Andy Wuzz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wuzz takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Wuzz shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Wuzz shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Berg is trying to defend but Wuzz finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Berg is not content to let Wuzz control the position.

Wuzz seems to be looking for submissions.

Wuzz is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Berg doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Wuzz.
Berg pushes Wuzz off looking to stand but Wuzz dives back in and keeps control.

Wuzz is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Berg is looking to improve his position.

Wuzz is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Berg is just riding it out for now. Wuzz eventually gives up the hold.

Wuzz looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Berg tries to get to full guard but Wuzz has control of the leg.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Wuzz is trying to work for a kimura but Berg is defending well.

Wuzz is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Berg to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.

Wuzz drops back, looking for a kneebar! Berg looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Berg looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Berg!
Wuzz takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
You can see the frustration on Wuzz's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Wuzz misses with a takedown attempt - Berg sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Horrible takedown by Wuzz or perhaps it was just good defense by Berg which made him look bad.

Wuzz shoots in looking for a takedown. Berg tries to sprawl out of it but Wuzz keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Berg manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Berg slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Wuzz has his foot on Berg's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Berg works his way back into a safe position though.

Wuzz had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Berg is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Wuzz Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Berg's back instead.

Berg is in a bad position with Wuzz working for a choke. Berg manages to spin nicely into guard and the danger is over for the moment.
Berg has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

That was a close round but Alexander Berg did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.

Berg is nestled in close to Wuzz, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Berg is sitting in close to Wuzz's body. Wuzz has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Berg is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Berg is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Wuzz.
