The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Belfort rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Smith moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Good leg kick by Belfort there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Belfort jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Smith walks away with a smile on his face. Belfort gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Smith is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Belfort is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Belfort flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Smith anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Belfort and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Smith slips an arm under Belfort chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Smith has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Smith is squeezing on Belfort like an anaconda would it's prey. Belfort fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
