Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Carl Ashmod (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rocko Juliano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rocko Juliano will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Juliano has managed to clinch.
Ashmod tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Juliano smiles and moves away.

Ashmod drives through with a takedown into guard.

Ashmod gets to his feet. Juliano looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Ashmod looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Ashmod wants to control but Juliano is keeping him busy.
Ashmod throwing shots but Juliano is blocking nicely.
Ashmod is looking to take a break and control but Juliano is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Juliano tries to get to full guard but Ashmod has control of the leg.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Ashmod had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Juliano is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Ashmod Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Juliano's back instead.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
