Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Semi Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Champo Groucho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Groucho throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Silva is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Groucho misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Silva throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Groucho was covering up waiting for the punch and Silva finishes the takedown easily into guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Groucho can do anything to dispel that myth.

Silva looks to land a combination. Groucho sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Groucho throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Donk. Silva catches Groucho right on the button with a cross.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Groucho throws a wild body kick that Silva sees coming a mile off.
Silva bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Groucho's head backwards.

Silva lands a nice shot to the body.
Silva is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Groucho takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Groucho misses with a head kick.
Silva connects with a jab.
Silva blocks a low kick nicely.
Semi Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Silva is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Groucho's half guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

The crowd cheers as Silva lands an impressive looking overhand right. Groucho doesn't seem phased though.

Silva scores with a one two! Groucho had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Semi Silva dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Groucho is breathing heavily.
Silva lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Groucho can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from Silva and Groucho drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by Silva.
