The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Cecil Peabody and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Kemp.
Kemp throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
It looks like Sean Sherk has been cut.
Sherk scores with a takedown into Kemp's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Kemp manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Kemp looking to control but Sherk is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Kemp throws some wild stikes that Sherk manages to avoid easily.
Kemp can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Sherk is looking to escape.
Sherk tries to hold on but Kemp pushes him away.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sherk can do anything to dispel that myth.

Kemp controlling the position easily from mount.
Kemp has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Kemp throwing strikes here but Sherk is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Kemp controlling from the full mount.
Kemp has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Sherk is trying desperately to improve position.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
The referee warns Sherk that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kemp jumps guard and drags Sherk to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kemp bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sherk's guard.

Sherk is working an open guard so Kemp takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

That's time! Kemp's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Sherk defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kemp.
Sherk uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kemp.
Kemp throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Sherk blocks a head kick by Kemp.
Kemp pushes Sherk up against the cage in a clinch.

Kemp pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Sherk dives in and grabs Kemp's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kemp pushes down on Sherk's head and hops out.

A right-left combo lands from Kemp.
Kemp throws a wild body kick that Sherk sees coming a mile off.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Sherk.
Kemp tries to clinch up.
Kemp lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Sherk backs up against the cage.
Sherk stuffs the takedown attempt from Kemp. Kemp gets slowly back to his feet.
Some wild striking there from Kemp.
Kemp misses with a body kick.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Sherk tries to clinch up.
Sherk goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Kemp misses with the combination.
Sherk avoids a kick to the body.
Kemp rushes Sherk and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Kemp wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Sherk has him pressed against the cage.
Kemp drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Isiah Kemp. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sherk can't get the takedown.
Sherk has had enough of the clinch but Kemp keeps him there for the moment.
Kemp cracks Sherk with a nice body shot.
Kemp pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Kemp lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Kemp tries to clinch up but Sherk circles away and keeps his distance.
Kemp fails in his attempt to clinch.
Kemp looks to land a combination. Sherk sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Kemp steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Sherk.
Kemp shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Sherk misses with the combination.
Kemp will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Kemp tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sherk paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Kemp lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Sherk shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kemp's guard.
Sherk chips away with some ground and pound.
Sherk in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Kemp has his feet on Sherk's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Sherk stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Kemp.

Sherk takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Sherk throws a right hand that Kemp ducks under and follows up with a left that Kemp also avoids with ease.
Kemp throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
so Sherk counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Sherk missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Sherk lands a couple of digs.
Kemp is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Sherk is aware though and is defending well.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Kemp working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sherk doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Kemp is tightening it up a little... Sherk has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Sherk reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Sherk taps out! nice BJJ there by Kemp!
