PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between James Quall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Clarence Malone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Quall comes into the arena with Beach Blast blaring out of the sound system. Clarence Malone looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, James Quall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Clarence Malone!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Steve Erwin and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malone throws a series of punches but Quall avoids them all with ease.
Malone moves out of range of the body kick.
Malone misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Malone shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Malone missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Quall tries to roll over but Malone keeps him under control.
Quall on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Quall tries to get out of the position.
Quall has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Malone is working away from the top position though.
The fighters are battling for position here. Quall manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Malone works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Malone is working for an americana but Quall has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Malone was thinking about the submission.
Quall wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Quall looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Quall is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Quall knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Malone on the ground.
Quall trying to mount his opponent but Malone defends it.
Quall keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Malone slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Quall sitting in guard here, content to control.

Quall decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Malone, up you get!
Malone shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Quall sprawls well. Quall wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Malone gets slowly back to his feet.
Malone fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Quall avoids it really well and circles away.
Malone looks gassed!
Quall swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Malone counters with a left and a right that stings Quall.
Quall scores with a jab to the head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Malone shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Quall pinned against the cage. Quall gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
James Quall has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Clarence Malone.
Quall scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Quall throws a shot from downtown. Malone moves away and avoids it.
Malone fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Quall tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Malone was well out of range. Poor timing from Quall.
Malone takes a jab right on the kisser.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Malone takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Quall lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Malone at a distance.
Quall throws a hook but Malone blocks it.
Quall digs a good body shot into Malone's ribs.
Quall thuds a left hand into Malone's body.
Malone ducks under a wild hook from Quall.
Quall stuffs the takedown attempt from Malone. Malone gets slowly back to his feet.
Malone shoots in for a takedown but Quall shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Quall connects with a good right hand that stumbles Malone. Malone circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Quall throws a hook but Malone avoids it easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Quall digs a good body shot into Malone's ribs.
Quall takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Quall tries to land a leg kick but Malone saw it coming and moves away.
Malone shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.


Malone is rocked!
Malone takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Malone is still on wobbly legs! Can Quall finish him?
Quall is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Quall lands a with a good body shot.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Quall throws a monster overhand right that drops Malone! Quall follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
