Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ryan McCarthy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Berendt Hansen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ryan McCarthy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Berendt Hansen!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Summer Carpenter and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hansen takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Hansen is looking to clinch but McCarthy is avoiding it.
McCarthy throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hansen was covering up waiting for the punch and McCarthy finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
McCarthy trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
McCarthy throwing strikes but missing.
McCarthy in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
McCarthy throwing strikes from guard but Hansen blocks nicely.
Hansen has momentary wrist control but McCarthy slips an elbow through the middle.
McCarthy is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
McCarthy throws a big right hand that misses.

Hansen wants to improve his position but instead McCarthy has moved into half guard.
McCarthy working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
McCarthy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hansen keeps working.
McCarthy slows the pace down in half guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Hansen tries to get to full guard but McCarthy has control of the leg.
Hansen is pressing down on McCarthy's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
McCarthy throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

McCarthy wants to control from the top but Hansen keeps moving.
McCarthy is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
McCarthy working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Hansen's head.
Hansen is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and McCarthy dives into side control.
Hansen tries to get back to half guard but can't.
McCarthy lands some shots froms side control.
It looks like Berendt Hansen has been cut.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hansen can do anything to dispel that myth.
McCarthy happy to just control the position for now.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
McCarthy is working Hansen over with some ground and pound from side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
McCarthy tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
McCarthy is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Hansen's shoulder. That is not cool.
McCarthy is working Hansen over with some ground and pound from side control.

McCarthy trying to control the action but Hansen is working from the bottom.
Hansen is looking for a sweep.
McCarthy landing a few strikes.
That has opened up Berendt Hansen's cut even more.

McCarthy is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Hansen looks calm but he's in trouble here. McCarthy gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Hansen is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! McCarthy lets go of the hold and Hansen can pop his arm back in it's socket.
