And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jay Noel!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Alec Ball and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gravel avoids a punch combination nicely.
Gravel swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Gravel shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Gravel fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Gravel throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Noel's waist but Noel gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gravel off to one side.

Noel throws a right hand that Gravel ducks under and follows up with a left that Gravel also avoids with ease.

Gravel drops back looking for a leg! Noel is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Noel manages to kick Gravel off! Gravel jumps back into Noel's guard.

Gravel wants to control from the top but Noel keeps moving.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Gravel is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Noel is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Gravel sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Noel's guard.
Noel blocking the ground and pound attempt from Gravel.
Noel really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gravel. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Noel is trying to stand back up but Gravel is controlling him
Paul Gravel has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
