Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tiago Mendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Walter Payton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mendez kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Trap Door. Walter Payton has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Payton closes this distance looking for a takedown but Mendez circles away.

Mendez moves into the clinch successfully.
Mendez is trying to force a seperation but Payton has the dominant position.
Payton wants to stall.
Payton lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Mendez.
Payton misses with a punch on the inside.
Mendez fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Mendez has Payton pressed up against the ropes and is working for takedown. Payton manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Mendez is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Payton!

Mendez seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Mendez is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Payton sees it coming and defends easily.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Mendez lands a nice short elbow.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Mendez is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Mendez wants to control but Payton is keeping him busy.
Mendez has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Mendez takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Mendez is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Payton with him. Payton is trying to defend but Mendez has an arm under the chin now! Payton grimaces and is forced to tap out!
