Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bas Rutten!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Will Rhodes!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Daniel Franklin and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rhodes throws a leg kick but Rutten sees it coming and moves out of range.
Rutten fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Rhodes shoots in and drives through. Rutten sprawls well.
Rutten gets a clinch.
Rhodes is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Rutten gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Rutten breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Rhodes shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Rutten as he avoids it easily.
Bas Rutten has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Will Rhodes.
Rhodes fails with a takedown attempt.
Rhodes shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Rutten defends it nicely.
Rutten dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Rhodes shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Rutten napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Rhodes wants to control but Rutten is keeping him busy.

Rutten on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Rutten tries to get out of the position.
Rutten tries to buck Rhodes off but Rhodes is having none of it.

Rhodes has control of an arm but Rutten manages to advance to Rhodes's back!
Rutten is trying to stick to Rhodes's back but Rhodes is turning into Rutten. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Rutten's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Rhodes.

Rutten not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Rhodes is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Rhodes has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Rutten knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rhodes on the ground.

Rutten cracks Rhodes with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Rhodes takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Rutten drops Rhodes with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Rhodes! Rutten dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
