Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Greg Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and joe blow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson comes to the cage accompanied by Move by Thousand Foot Krutch. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Greg Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, joe blow!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Stewart Dunkirk and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from blow as Johnson shoots in.
joe blow seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
blow lands with a kick to the ribs.
blow moves into range and connects with a jab.

blow has taken the fight to the clinch.

blow's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

blow gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Johnson tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Johnson fails to pull the fight into his guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Greg Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Johnson tries to score a body lock takedown but blow shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Johnson gets control of blow's arms and successfully pulls guard. Johnson will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

blow really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Johnson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Johnson is looking for a triangle but blow pushes his legs off easily.

Johnson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. blow doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. blow manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
I looks like blow might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Johnson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in blow's guard.

Johnson wants to pass the guard but blow is keeping the position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Johnson has gone for a leg lock! blow slips out almost immediately though and dives into Johnson's guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Johnson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

joe blow dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


blow closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Johnson shoots in but blow avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Johnson takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
blow scores with a hook to the body. Johnson takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Johnson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. blow tries to avoid it but Johnson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag blow to the ground. blow escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

blow drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

blow decides to take the fight back to the feet.

blow throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Johnson was covering up waiting for the punch and blow finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Johnson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

blow trying to control but Johnson is working from the bottom.

blow got a little sloppy there for a moment and Johnson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, blow has managed to get both his arms back between Johnson's legs - danger averted.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Johnson throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! blow escapes and throws Johnson's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Johnson is looking for a sweep.

blow just content to control the position.
You can see the frustration on Johnson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Johnson is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

joe blow showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


blow cracks a nice hook into Johnson's ribs.
blow throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Greg Johnson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Johnson doesn't succeed with the takedown
and blow counters with a one-two to the body.
Left hook, right uppercut from blow.
blow looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Johnson is fending him off so far but blow persists. Nope, Johnson circles away and we're back to standing.

Johnson is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in blow's half guard.
blow tries to kick Johnson off but Johnson keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Johnson slips a nice elbow through blow's hands, connecting with blow's forehead.
Johnson wants to take a breather but blow is having none of it.

blow wants to improve his position but Johnson is controlling well.
Johnson keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
blow preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
blow is looking to control Johnson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can blow avoid being mounted?

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Johnson wants to stand up but blow is controlling the position.
blow wants to improve his position but Johnson is controlling well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
blow is pressing down on Johnson's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
blow trying to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Johnson trying to control the position from guard on top but blow is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
joe blow is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
blow lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Johnson!
Johnson wants to control but blow is having none of it.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to joe blow.
Well blow has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
