PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jason Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank E (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Miller comes to the cage accompanied by Lava Lava. Jason Miller looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason Miller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Frank E!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Miller gets caught flat footed, as E shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

E stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Miller closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming E to the mat! E manages to get full guard.
Miller won't allow E to sweep him here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Miller wants to control from the top but E keeps moving.
E with a couple of shots from the bottom there - nothing Miller can't handle though.
E is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

E had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Miller is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. E Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Miller's back instead.
Miller wants to escape the position.

E is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Miller knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Miller for a finish.
E looks gassed!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Miller tries to escape but E has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

E has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Miller.

E connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Miller to escape the position.
E lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

E is not going to allow Miller to sit and survive in this position.
Miller breaks E's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
E throwing rabbit punches from the bottom - showing the judges that he's keeping busy.
E not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Miller misses with a takedown attempt

and E holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

E has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Miller uses from the top position.

E looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
E looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Miller got a little sloppy there for a moment and E has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Miller has managed to get both his arms back between E's legs - danger averted.

E working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Miller doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Miller manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Miller won't allow E to sweep him here.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now E is on top in guard.
E trying to control but Miller is working from the bottom.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
E sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Miller's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frank E dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



E gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Miller goes for a takedown in the clinch but E prevents it.

E pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

E closes the distance and pushes Miller back into the cage.
Miller jumps guard but E stands there with Miller around his waist. Miller gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
E will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Miller up against the cage.

Miller is fighting off a takedown attempt but E is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Miller to the mat. Miller regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
E pushing down on Miller's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
E passes to full mount!
E scoring with strikes but Miller is staying in there.
Miller is looking to improve his position but E isn't that keen on the idea.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Miller throwing hammer fists to the chest of E. What's that going to do exactly?
E unloading with bombs!
Miller is looking to get to half guard.
E fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

E is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Miller is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Miller flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. E anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Miller and secures both hooks! This could be bad! E slips an arm under Miller chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. E has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. E is squeezing on Miller like an anaconda would it's prey. Miller fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Frank E!
