And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcgiven fails with a takedown attempt.
Mcgiven shoots in for a takedown but McCollom shows good takedown defense.
McCollom defending well as Mcgiven loads up on a big left hand.
Mcgiven moves in looking to clinch but McCollom pushes him off.
McCollom throws a poor cross that misses

and Mcgiven counters by clinching up.

McCollom breaks from the clinch.

Mcgiven fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. McCollom sprawls well initially but Mcgiven persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Mcgiven trying to mount his opponent but McCollom defends it.
McCollom is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Mcgiven is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Mcgiven passes to side control.
Mcgiven tries to advance to mount but can't.
Mcgiven moves into full mount!

That's one minute gone in the round.
McCollom is desperately trying to improve his position but Mcgiven has a good base and remains in mount.
McCollom tries to buck Mcgiven off but he can't manage it.

Mcgiven is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but McCollom is surviving well by controlling Mcgiven's body position as best he can.
Mcgiven is breathing heavily.
McCollom keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
McCollom stops Mcgiven from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
McCollom is wriggling around trying to escape.
McCollom should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Mcgiven looking to control but McCollom is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Mcgiven working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
McCollom has given up his back here. Will Mcgiven look for the submission or keep pounding away?

Mcgiven has the hooks in. McCollom is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McCollom manages to reverse the position and now he's in Mcgiven's guard. Nice work there by McCollom.

Mcgiven looking for a guillotine here but McCollom defends easily.

Mcgiven has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but McCollom can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Mcgiven is looking for a triangle but McCollom pushes his legs off easily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
McCollom keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Mcgiven's head.

Mcgiven looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Mcgiven working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. McCollom doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. McCollom manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

McCollom is posturing up here but Mcgiven has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! McCollom tries to roll out but it's too tight and McCollom has to tap! Slick submission there by Mcgiven!
