The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Feel looks for the body kick but Hommis saw that one coming.
Hommis tries to close the distance and clinch up but Feel swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Feel tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hommis swivels and escapes.
No luck for Feel with that takedown attempt.
Hommis displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Feel.
Dick Hommis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Electric Feel.
Hommis circles away from the clinch attempt

and Hommis counters by moving into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Feel jumps guard but Hommis stands there with Feel around his waist. Feel gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Feel looking to sit in guard and control but Hommis gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Feel is trying to control the position but Hommis postures up.
Feel working a defensive guard but Hommis passes into half guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Feel can do anything to dispel that myth.
Feel wants to control but Hommis is having none of it.

Despite being in the dominant position, Electric Feel just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hommis tries to clinch there but Feel circles away.
Feel shoots in for a double leg but Hommis sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Feel shoots in for a takedown but Hommis shows good takedown defense.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Feel tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Hommis counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Feel has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Hommis avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Feel has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Hommis has Feel pressed against the cage.
Feel is looking to break free of the clinch but Hommis has double underhooks.
Feel tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Hommis smiles and moves away.
Feel misses with a takedown attempt - Hommis sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Feel has a takedown stuffed.
Feel shoots in but Hommis avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Hommis clinches up against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Feel has had enough of the clinch but Hommis keeps him there for the moment.

Hommis has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Feel uses from the top position.
Hommis tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Feel is breathing heavily.

Hommis is pushing down on Feel's leg trying to pass to half guard. Feel is fighting to maintain full guard but Hommis has managed to sneak the leg through.
Well, if Hommis is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Feel is trying to control but can't.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Hommis slows the pace down in half guard.
Feel is looking to control Hommis's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Feel avoid being mounted?
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hommis trying to mount his opponent but Feel defends it.

Feel is looking to escape.
Feel has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hommis is working away from the top position though.
Hommis is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

and Hommis counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Hommis.

Feel wanted to stand there but Hommis had control of the position.
