PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kai Tyson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabriel Finalizador (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Seu Braga and Mauricio Rocha.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Finalizador showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Tyson.

Finalizador feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Finalizador tries to free his leg and advance position but Tyson is retaining full guard.

Tyson has his feet on Finalizador's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Finalizador closes the distance and clinches.

Tyson jumps guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Finalizador accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Finalizador might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Tyson kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Tyson has one foot on Finalizador's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Finalizador gets to his feet. Tyson looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Finalizador doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Tyson lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Finalizador has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Finalizador and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Tyson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Finalizador, pushing him back against the cage.
Tyson is pressed up against the cage. Finalizador has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Tyson down to the mat. Tyson avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Tyson throws a sloppy head kick and Finalizador moves out of range easily.

Finalizador gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Tyson to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Finalizador has his foot on Tyson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Tyson works his way back into a safe position though.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Tyson is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Finalizador is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tyson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Gabriel Finalizador will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Finalizador feints and as Tyson raises his hands in defense, Finalizador changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Finalizador wants to control from the top but Tyson keeps moving.
Finalizador not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Tyson could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Finalizador won't allow Tyson to get back to his feet.
Tyson controls Finalizador momentarily but Finalizador frees himself.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Tyson wants to sweep here but Finalizador controlling him for the moment.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Finalizador. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Finalizador jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Tyson walks away with a smile on his face. Finalizador gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

and Finalizador counters with a shoot takedown. Tyson fights it but they end up in guard.

Tyson tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Finalizador slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Tyson lands with a nice combination. Finalizador backs away looking to recover.

Tyson throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Finalizador escapes and throws Tyson's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Finalizador is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Tyson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Finalizador.

Gabriel Finalizador showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
