PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pink Floyd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brad Pearson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Floyd comes into the arena with Jay-Z - Empire State of Mind (feat Alicia Keys) blaring out of the sound system. Brad Pearson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Floyd misses with the combination.
Floyd with a nice cross.
Floyd slaps away a takedown attempt from Pearson, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Pearson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Floyd as he avoids it easily.
Pearson thuds his shin into the meat of Floyd's side.

Floyd throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Pearson on the side of the head.
Floyd lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Pearson forces Floyd back against the cage and clinches.
Pearson creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
A frustrated look appears on Floyd's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Floyd misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Pearson.

Floyd's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Pearson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Floyd paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Pearson fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Pink Floyd has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brad Pearson.
A lazy left from Pearson finds it's target.

Floyd rushes Pearson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Floyd breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Floyd scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Pearson doesn't seem bothered though.

Floyd closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Floyd fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Floyd has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Pearson!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Floyd cracks Pearson with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Pearson is in a horrible position here. Floyd smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The cut above Brad Pearson's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
The referee warns Pearson that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Pearson is still in real trouble! Can Floyd finish him?

Brad Pearson's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Pearson takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Oooooh, big shot lands for Floyd! Pearson is hurt baaadly! Floyd is firing away with more strikes - Pearson is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
