Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Davis Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and JP Lopez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lopez is looking to clinch.
Lopez with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Lopez swats away the attempt to clinch by Black.
Black misses with a low kick as Lopez jumps back.
Lopez takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Lopez misses with a double jab.
Black works the jab nicely.
Lopez tries a head kick but it misses.
Lopez lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Black throws a chopping leg kick but Lopez manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Nice body kick from Lopez.
Black moves in looking to clinch but Lopez pushes him off.
Lopez doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lopez cracks a nice hook into Black's ribs.
Black misses with a combination
and Lopez makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

A slapping body kick lands there for Lopez.
Black is breathing heavily.
Lopez throws a right hand that Black ducks under and follows up with a left that Black also avoids with ease.
Lopez wants to clinch
and Black counters with a single leg into guard. Lopez didn't expect that.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Lopez looking to control but Black passes into half guard.
Lopez wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Black with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Black slips a nice elbow through Lopez's hands, connecting with Lopez's forehead.
Black thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Lopez's head.
Lopez tries to kick Black off but Black keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Lopez is trying to control but can't.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Black closes the distance and clinches.
Black tightens his grip and picks Lopez up, before dumping him to the ground. Lopez manages to land in guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Black creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Lopez sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Lopez is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Black's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Black winds up and cracks Lopez with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Black is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Lopez tries to get to full guard but Black has control of the leg.
Well, if Black is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Lopez is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Black not doing much here.
Black sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Lopez defending well though.
Lopez manages to get to full guard.
Lopez is trying to keep Black in close.
Black sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Lopez's guard.
Lopez is trying to stand up here but Black is controlling him well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Black looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Black landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Davis Black dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Black misses with a combination
and Lopez counters with a nice kick to the body.
Lopez misses with a double jab
and Black counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Lopez moves out of range as Black strikes.
Black throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Lopez on the side of the head.
Black throws a looping overhand right but Lopez ducks down to avoid it.
JP Lopez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lopez clinches but Black breaks the clinch
and Black counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
JP Lopez is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Black instigates a clinch.
Lopez lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Black throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Lopez's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
A slapping leg kick lands for Lopez.
Black throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Lopez.

and Lopez counters with a stiff right hand.
Lopez throws a low kick but it's checked well by Black.
Black throws a right hand that Lopez ducks under and follows up with a left that Lopez also avoids with ease.

and Black counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Lopez lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Black misses with an uppercut.
Lopez throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Black pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Nice uppercut there from Black.
JP Lopez seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Black jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Black ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Black lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Lopez has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Lopez and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Black scores with a jab. Lopez acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
A big left from Lopez misses.
Black throws a shot from downtown. Lopez moves away and avoids it.
Lopez scores with the left hand. Black knows he should have avoided that one.
JP Lopez is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Black feints and as Lopez raises his hands in defense, Black changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Black is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Black has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Davis Black overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Lopez tries to hold on but Black pushes him away.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Lopez throws a head kick that misses
and Black moves into the clinch.

Black has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Lopez clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Black lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Black.

Black is looking for the choke from the back position but Lopez is controlling his hands well.

Black has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Black is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Lopez is defending well though. Black let's go of the attempt for now.

Black is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Lopez has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Black unloads with some shots from mount but Lopez bucks and avoids them well.

Davis Black is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Davis Black showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Black, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
