Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Steve Nash!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Vick Armstrong!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Armstrong shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Nash pinned against the cage. Nash gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
A swing and a miss from Armstrong.
Nash fails with a takedown attempt.
Nash takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Nash fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Armstrong walks into a left hand.
Nash tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Armstrong was well out of range. Poor timing from Nash.
Nash throws a leg kick but Armstrong moved away.
Nash takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Nash smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Good leg kick by Armstrong there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Nash is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A chopping leg kick lands by Armstrong.
Armstrong scoring well with a low kick there.

Armstrong shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Armstrong looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Armstrong trying to control the action but Nash is working from the bottom.
Armstrong not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Armstrong not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Armstrong moves nicely into side control.
Armstrong misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Nash is trying to buck Armstrong off.
Armstrong advances to full mount.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Armstrong takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
A nice elbow there by Armstrong.
Armstrong tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Armstrong has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Armstrong moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Nash has worked his arm free - good work by Nash!
Armstrong in side control, throwing shots but Nash defends.

The strikes coming from Armstrong are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Armstrong in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Nash dodges the ground and pound from Armstrong.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Armstrong is looking to take a break and control but Nash is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Nash managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Armstrong.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Nash tries to work over Armstrong's front leg with a kick but Armstrong checks it.
Armstrong misses with an attempted mid kick.
Armstrong looks to land a combination but Nash avoids it well.
Armstrong bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Horrible takedown by Nash or perhaps it was just good defense by Armstrong which made him look bad.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Armstrong.
Nash managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Armstrong.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vick Armstrong dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Nash blocks a head kick by Armstrong.
Armstrong lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Nash fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Armstrong manages to avoid it.
Armstrong drops his hands momentarily and Nash takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Nash thows a body shot but no joy.
Nash fails with an attempt to clinch.
Armstrong lands a nice leg kick that just misses Nash's sensitive parts.
Armstrong uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Nash.
Armstrong with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Armstrong throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A combination from Armstrong does no damage.
Nash jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Nash looks to score with a jab to the body but Armstrong is just out of range.
Armstrong rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Nash moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
A nice inside leg kick there by Armstrong. That's going to slow Nash down.
Armstrong goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Armstrong lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Armstrong, right into the meat.
Armstrong scores with a jab to the jaw.
Armstrong throws a quick inside leg kick.

Armstrong lands with a kick to the ribs.
Armstrong misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Nash.
Armstrong throws a leg kick which misses Nash's front leg but catches the back leg as Nash tries to avoid it.
Nash takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Armstrong stalling.

Armstrong successfully pulls guard.
Armstrong trying to control the position here.

Armstrong looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Armstrong keeping moving, preventing Nash from controlling successfully.
Armstrong wants to sweep but no luck.

Armstrong is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Nash rolls with it to try and escape but Armstrong cranks on the arm and Nash is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
