Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jackson Faber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marshal Huber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Marshal Huber!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Huber misses with a takedown attempt - Faber sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Faber rushes Huber and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Faber lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Huber has had enough of the clinch but Faber keeps him there for the moment.
Faber with a knee to the head.
Faber connects with a knee to the head.

Faber breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Huber throws an overhand right that lands on Faber's shoulder, as Faber tries to avoid the shot.
Huber closes the distance but Faber moves to the side
and Faber counters with a flying knee. Nice.

Faber moves into the clinch successfully.
Faber with a knee to the head.
Faber gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Faber manages to break the clinch.
Faber circles away from the clinch attempt

and Faber moves into the clinch.
Huber tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Faber smiles and moves away.

and Faber counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Huber!

Huber is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Faber has taken his back!

Even with his hooks in, Faber manages to miss with strikes from the back.
Faber doesn't have the hooks in and Huber manages to turn into his guard.

Huber has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Faber is proving hard to escape from.
Huber stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Faber swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Huber wanted to stand there but Faber had control of the position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Faber clinches up with Huber and pushes him back against the cage.
Faber using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Huber has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Faber gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Faber trying to control the position from guard on top but Huber is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Huber throws his legs up looking for a submission but Faber uses it to pass to side control.
Huber is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Huber looks gassed!

Faber is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Huber knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Faber stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Marshal Huber seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Faber counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Faber gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Huber.
Jackson Faber has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marshal Huber.

Faber gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Huber flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Huber tries to get to full guard but Faber has control of the leg.
Huber is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Huber tries to kick Faber off but Faber keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Huber wants to improve his position but Faber is controlling well.
It looks like Faber is going to stand back up.
Faber works his way into full mount!
Huber bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

and Faber counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Huber is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Faber is keeping busy.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Huber defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Faber.
Huber is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Faber knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Huber on the ground.
Huber is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Huber throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
Huber is trying to reverse the position but instead Faber has taken his back - oops!

Faber is persistently looking for the submission but Huber is defending it well.
Huber turns into Faber and is now in his guard.
Faber is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Huber looking to sit in guard and control but Faber gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Faber stands and steps away. Huber gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

and Faber holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Faber breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Faber lands with a thumping leg kick.

Faber closes the distance and clinches.

Huber fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Faber is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Faber is pressed up against the cage. Huber has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Faber down to the mat. Faber avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and Faber counters with a nice double leg into side control. Huber won't be happy with that.
Faber prevents Huber from escaping the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Huber fails with the takedown

and Faber counters by moving into the clinch.

Faber has hold of one of Huber's legs. Huber is fighting the takedown attempt but Faber gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Huber is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Faber is controlling him.
Faber stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Huber swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Jackson Faber overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Faber wants to control from the top but Huber keeps moving.
Faber prevents Huber from getting back to his feet.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Huber takes an elbow to the temple.

Huber is working for takedown but Faber is calmly controlling the position for now.

Huber swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Faber keeps control of Huber as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Huber is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Faber pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Huber tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Faber just stands there and leans against the cage.

Faber breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Huber moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

and Faber counters with a single leg into guard. Huber didn't expect that.
Faber won't allow Huber to sweep him here.
Faber postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Faber has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Huber is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Faber slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Faber is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Huber can do to turn this around?

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Faber clinches up with Huber and pushes him back against the cage.
Faber gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Faber's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Huber takes a knee right on the jaw!

Faber manages to break the clinch.
Horrible takedown by Huber or perhaps it was just good defense by Faber which made him look bad.
Huber shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

A head kick from Faber lands but Huber takes it in his stride.
Huber doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Faber holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Faber is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Huber wants a takedown but no success here.

Faber has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Huber regains guard immediately.
Faber wants to control from the top but Huber keeps moving.

Huber pushes a forearm under Faber's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Faber is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Marshal Huber!
