Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bruno Canuto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Conor Byrne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Byrne comes into a darkened arena with his song building. I'm Shipping Up To Boston kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Byrne slaps away a takedown attempt from Canuto, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Byrne darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Byrne is keen to just control but Canuto is a slippery customer.
Canuto is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Byrne scores with a couple of nice shots.
Canuto is not content to let Byrne control the position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Canuto stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Byrne swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Byrne is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
