Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rod Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddie Faber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Faber has chosen California Love - Tupac as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rod Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eddie Faber!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Wesley Smith and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Faber.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Faber changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jones tries to avoid it but Faber manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jones to the ground. Jones escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Rod Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eddie Faber.
Faber shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jones sprawls well. Jones wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Faber gets slowly back to his feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Faber looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jones is fending him off so far but Faber persists. Nope, Jones circles away and we're back to standing.

Faber stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jones swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Faber controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Faber working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Faber is pushing down on Jones's leg trying to pass to half guard. Jones is fighting to maintain full guard but Faber has managed to sneak the leg through.
Faber wants to take a breather but Jones is having none of it.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Faber stops Jones from getting back to his feet.

Jones knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Faber on the ground.
Faber is keen to just control but Jones is a slippery customer.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
The fighters circle momentarily. Jones darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Faber.
Jones changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Jones lands a jab to Faber's midsection.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Faber is defended easily by Jones.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Faber shoots in looking for a takedown. Jones tries to sprawl out of it but Faber keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jones manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
