Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between David Karlsson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donald Register (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Karlsson kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Mayhem. Register has chosen Mama Said Knock You Out as his entrance music. David Karlsson has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Donald Register!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Gwen Towbar and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Register fails in his attempt to clinch.
Karlsson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Register pinned against the cage. Register gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Karlsson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Karlsson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Register knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Karlsson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Karlsson trying to control the action but Register is working from the bottom.

Karlsson is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Register is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Karlsson sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Register is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Karlsson.
Register fails to land with a series of punches.
Register tries to close the distance and clinch but Karlsson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Register gets caught flat footed, as Karlsson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Register really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Karlsson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Register wants to stand up but Karlsson is controlling him.

Karlsson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Register dives on top into guard.
Karlsson avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Karlsson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Register's guard.
Karlsson is looking to work some ground and pound but Register has wrist control.

Register is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Karlsson is controlling him.
Register is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Karlsson trying to control but Register is working from the bottom.
Register wants to sweep but no luck.
Karlsson passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Karlsson misses with the ground and pound.
Register tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Karlsson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Karlsson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Register defends it nicely.

Register is looking for a sweep. Karlsson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Karlsson looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Karlsson wants to free his trapped foot but Register is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Register pushes Karlsson off looking to stand but Karlsson dives back in and keeps control.
Karlsson is looking to take a break and control but Register is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Karlsson tries to pass to full mount but Register defends it.

Register is trying to stand.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Karlsson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Register circles away.
Register wants to clinch.
Register tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
A bone on bone clash there as Karlsson blocks the leg kick.
Register keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Register swings wildly with an uppercut but Karlsson uses good head movement to avoid it.
Register throws an elbow that misses.

Karlsson pulls Register into guard.
Register wants to stand but Karlsson has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Karlsson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Register defends well.

Karlsson has his foot on Register's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Register works his way back into a safe position though.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Karlsson had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Register is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Karlsson Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Register's back instead.
Register is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Karlsson off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

Karlsson is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Karlsson has his opponent's back but Register is looking to stand. He manages to get to his feet and shakes off Karlsson.

Karlsson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Karlsson showed some decent athleticism there.
Register is in trouble now - Karlsson has advanced to mount!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Karlsson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
