Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brian Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mustafa Tanaka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tanaka comes into a darkened arena with his song building. This is why i'm hot kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Brian Penn has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tanaka takes a jab right on the kisser.


It looks like Mustafa Tanaka has been cut.
Penn dives in and grabs Tanaka's left leg, looking for a takedown. Tanaka pushes down on Penn's head and hops out.
A clash of legs there as Tanaka blocks the low kick.
Tanaka keeps the fight on the outside.
Tanaka stuffs the takedown.

Penn shoots for a takedown but Tanaka saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Penn shoots in and drives through. Tanaka sprawls well.

and Tanaka counters with a series of strikes. Penn will be more careful next time no doubt.

Tanaka throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Tanaka's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Penn shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Tanaka's guard.

Tanaka goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Penn has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Tanaka is working away from the top position though.

Penn bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Tanaka's head backwards.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Tanaka can do anything to dispel that myth.

Penn drops back, looking for a kneebar! Tanaka looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Tanaka looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Tanaka!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Penn, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
