Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Nunes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nobunaga Shirow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nunes comes to the cage accompanied by Sisqo - The Thong Song. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Paulo Santos and Seu Braga.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some bone on bone action there as Shirow checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Nunes.
Nunes swinging wilding here.
Shirow shoots in for a takedown but Nunes shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Nunes is looking to score with low kicks.
Nunes throws a big shot that misses.
Shirow checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Nunes throws a right and a left that both miss.
Nunes has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Nunes there as he acknowledges the shot.

Nunes avoids the head kick by Shirow.
Nunes throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Shirow.
Nunes throws out a leg kick but Shirow moves out of range and Nunes only half commits.
Shirow takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Nunes will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Nunes uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Shirow has time to react.

Nobunaga Shirow seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Nunes lands a nice shot that snaps Shirow's head back.
Shirow throws a head kick that misses.
Nunes moves out of range as Shirow strikes.
Shirow takes a swing at Nunes's ribcage but misses.
Shirow checks a low kick from Nunes.
Nunes looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Shirow shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Nunes is looking to improve his position but Shirow isn't that keen on the idea.

Shirow won't let Nunes get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Nunes knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Shirow on the ground.

Nunes tries to hold on but Shirow pushes him away.

Shirow jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Nunes manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Nunes tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Shirow wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Nunes throws the left hand but Shirow avoids the punch easily.
Nunes throws a leg kick that misses.
Shirow fails with a takedown attempt.
Nunes throws a series of punches but Shirow avoids them all with ease.
Nunes misses with a body shot.

Shirow shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Nunes's guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Nunes is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Shirow is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Nunes wants to get back to his feet but Shirow is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Shirow is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Nunes controls Shirow momentarily but Shirow frees himself.
Shirow controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Nunes leaves Shirow with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Antonio Nunes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nobunaga Shirow.
Nunes comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
A left lands for Nunes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Nobunaga Shirow will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Nunes turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Nunes scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

It looks like Nobunaga Shirow has been cut.
Antonio Nunes is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Shirow throws a head kick but Nunes moves out of range.
Nunes scores with a jab. Shirow acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Nunes throws a series of strikes that have Shirow backpedaling.
Nunes connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Shirow is still on wobbly legs! Can Nunes finish him?
Nunes connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Shirow! He's out on his feet! Nunes rushes in and drops Shirow with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
