PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Art Vandelay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Extor Ace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vandelay comes to the cage accompanied by Street Fighting Man by The Rolling Stones. Ace has chosen Black Eyed Peas - Imma Be as his entrance music. Ace has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Extor Ace has the eye of the tiger tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Extor Ace!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, John Kavanagh and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vandelay has a takedown stuffed.
Vandelay stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Ace.
Ace misses with a low kick.
Ace dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Vandelay. That did some damage!
Ace staying out of range there.
Ace wants to slow Vandelay down by chopping away at his legs.

Ace throws a big shot that misses.
Art Vandelay seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vandelay lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Vandelay.

Vandelay shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Vandelay showed some decent athleticism there.

Vandelay has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Ace is trying desperately to improve position.
Vandelay tries to control but Ace wriggling away.

Vandelay is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Ace can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Ace throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Ace just misses with a punch to the body.
Vandelay throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ace's waist but Ace gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Vandelay off to one side.
Ace takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Vandelay is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Vandelay tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Vandelay has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Vandelay, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
