PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Click Clack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kukulcan Ah Puch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clack comes into the arena with Deja Vu (Uptown Anthem) - Lord Tariq and Peter Gunz blaring out of the sound system. Ah Puch has chosen Sick Puppies-Youre going down as his entrance music. Kukulcan Ah Puch has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Click Clack!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kukulcan Ah Puch!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Jonathan Paton and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clack throws a right hand that Ah Puch ducks under and follows up with a left that Ah Puch also avoids with ease.
Clack throws out a loose jab but Ah Puch uses good head movement to avoid it.
Clack takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Ah Puch fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Ah Puch thows a body shot but no joy.
Nice straight punches there by Ah Puch. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Ah Puch.

and Clack counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Clack loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Ah Puch has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Clack is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Ah Puch.

Clack is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Ah Puch has escaped the position, nice work there.
Clack wants to control for a moment but Ah Puch uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.

Ah Puch got a little sloppy there for a moment and Clack has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ah Puch has managed to get both his arms back between Clack's legs - danger averted.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Clack seems keen to control Ah Puch's posture.

Clack has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ah Puch can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Ah Puch lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Clack might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Clack is trying to keep Ah Puch in close.

Ah Puch thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Clack is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Ah Puch with a nice head shot there.
Clack tries to strike from the bottom.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Ah Puch doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Clack counters with a stiff right hand.
Clack tries to work over Ah Puch's front leg with a kick but Ah Puch checks it.
Ah Puch dives in and grabs Clack's left leg, looking for a takedown. Clack pushes down on Ah Puch's head and hops out.
Click Clack has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kukulcan Ah Puch.

Ah Puch gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Ah Puch wants to sweep but no luck.
Ah Puch throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Ah Puch working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Clack doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Clack manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Click Clack will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Nice sprawl there from Ah Puch as Clack shoots in.

Ah Puch drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Clack tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ah Puch wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Clack is working hard here to advance position.
Clack is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Ah Puch swings around for an armbar but Clack sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Ah Puch's guard.

Ah Puch is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Clack defends well.
Ah Puch wants to sweep here but Clack controlling him for the moment.
Clack works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Clack is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Ah Puch has managed to free his arm - good work.
Ah Puch moves into full guard.

Ah Puch is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Ah Puch is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Clack actively working from the bottom here.

Ah Puch seems to be looking for submissions.
Clack wants to improve his position but Ah Puch is controlling well.

Ah Puch is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Clack controls Ah Puch momentarily but Ah Puch frees himself.

Kukulcan Ah Puch has got the better of the ground game so far.

Ah Puch has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Clack! Can he survive? No! He's out! Ah Puch gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
