Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Viraj Mithani (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane Krestner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Krestner has chosen Remember the Name as his entrance music. Shane Krestner is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Shane Krestner!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Alyssa Summers and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mithani scores with a shot to the body.
Krestner closes the distance and clinches up with Mithani, looking for a takedown. Krestner pushes Mithani against the cage but Mithani circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Krestner tries for a takedown but Mithani sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Krestner is trying hard to land a takedown here. Mithani sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Viraj Mithani has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shane Krestner.

Krestner throws a nice looking combination but Mithani bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Krestner shoots for a double leg takedown but Mithani sprawls well. He's pushed Krestner's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Krestner feints and as Mithani raises his hands in defense, Krestner changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Krestner wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mithani keeps working.

Krestner wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mithani, who protects the arm well.

Mithani is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Krestner asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Mithani tries to contro but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
Krestner has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Mithani's face.

Krestner is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Mithani can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Mithani tries to hold on but Krestner pushes him away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Krestner cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Oh Mithani is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Mithani tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Mithani seems to have got his legs back now.

Mithani is trying desperately to improve position.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Krestner goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Mithani turns into him and now he's in Krestner's guard.

Krestner working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mithani doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mithani manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Mithani is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Krestner had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Mithani defends it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mithani clobbers Krestner with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Krestner is defended easily by Mithani.

Mithani misses with a two punch combination.
Krestner slips a jab and a cross from Mithani.
Krestner avoids the body shot from Mithani.
Some wild striking there from Mithani.
No joy there for Mithani, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Krestner shoots in for a double leg but Mithani sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Mithani lands a jab-cross combination.
Mithani lands a glancing blow to the side of Krestner's head.
Krestner shoots in but Mithani avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Mithani lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Krestner backs up against the cage.


It looks like Shane Krestner has been cut.

Krestner shoots in but no luck this time.

Krestner tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mithani sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Krestner somewhat.

and Krestner counters with a single leg into guard. Mithani didn't expect that.

Mithani is looking to stand up but Krestner isn't so interested in that idea.

Krestner drops back, looking for a kneebar! Mithani looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Mithani looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Mithani!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Shane Krestner's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!


Mithani scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Krestner doesn't seem bothered though.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Krestner.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mithani rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Krestner moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Krestner fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Krestner has a takedown stuffed.
Viraj Mithani has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shane Krestner.
Mithani throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Mithani lands a right hook to the body.
Mithani is looking to wear down Krestner with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
A nice combination there by Mithani.
Mithani slaps away a takedown attempt from Krestner, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Mithani throws a right and a left that Krestner avoids nicely.
Krestner takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Krestner shoots in for a takedown but Mithani shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Mithani uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Krestner.
No luck for Krestner with that takedown attempt.
Krestner walks into a stiff left hand from Mithani.
Krestner throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Mithani counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Krestner throws a left and a right that both miss
and Mithani counters with a two punch combo.
Mithani bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Krestner shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Krestner was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Krestner looking to finish Mithani with some ground and pound. This is bad for Mithani!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Krestner looking to secure an arm triangle but Mithani defends it well.
Krestner takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Mithani wants to hold on but Krestner pushes him away.
Mithani sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

And that's the end of the fight!
Viraj Mithani showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Mithani has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
